  Red Rock Casino
Most locals steer clear of the Strip — but what's Vegas without a little gambling? Red Rock is one of the newer "local" casinos, geared more toward residents than tourists. With its posh decor and swanky spa, it shares elements with the Strip's glittering giants, but it still maintains a "community hangout" feel with family restaurants, theaters, bowling lanes, and a day care facility.

Red Rock Resort Spa and Casino is a resort spa and casino owned by Station Casinos on 70 acres located in the Summerlin village of Summerlin Centre in Summerlin, Nevada. Red Rock is located far off of the Las Vegas Strip, it is known as a locals casino. Located on Charleston Boulevard at the interchange of Clark County 215. The resort is the flagship property of Station Casinos, and the company's corporate headquarters is located on property.

The resort includes a 198 ft (60 m) hotel tower with 815 rooms, spa, 94,000 sq ft (8,700 m2) of meeting space, slot machines, table games, a 16 screen Regal Cinemas movie theater, a bingo hall, a 3 acres pool area, a bowling alley as well as eleven restaurants.

The Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa has a notable collection of art. At one time, its collection included work by Andy Warhol. Today, its collection includes the "Love" sculpture by Robert Indiana in the pool area and other works of art by Takashi Murakami, Vik Muniz, and Paul McCarthy through out the property.

The westward-facing side of the hotel tower has another feature - a light show on the windows. There has been no official mention of it whatsoever on the hotel's website or by the press. Little is known what the show is officially called, who designed it, or how long it will be displayed each night at this point, but photos taken of the testing phase show difference from the eastern side of the tower.

Options for high-rollers abound, as one can forgo the already above-average table minimums for the exclusive high limit room with table games or the "Top Hat" high bidder slot area.   New York, New York Casino
Architecturally and visually, this amazing casino lives up to its phenomenal resort exterior. Some 2400 slot and video poker machines, 41 blackjack tables, 8 craps tables, 7 roulette wheels, and other games are interspersed throughout various buildings, restaurants, and hotel spaces. The wondrous detail and urban style of the casino match the half-sized Statue of Liberty and scaled-down versions of the Empire State Building and other skyscrapers that house guests. Service and hospitality are on par with the attention to detail.

New York-New York uses the New York City influence of its name in several ways. Its architecture is meant to evoke the New York City skyline; the hotel includes several towers configured to resemble New York City towers such as the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. In front of the property is a lake representing New York Harbor, with a 150-foot-tall (46 m) replica of the Statue of Liberty, and replicas of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Main Immigration Building on Ellis Island, and the Grand Central Terminal.

Within the resort, particular gambling areas, lounges, restaurants, and meeting rooms are named after New York City neighborhoods or landmarks. The main casino area, for example, is named after Central Park, while the shops are modeled after Greenwich Village.

The resort is located on the northwest corner of the Tropicana - Las Vegas Boulevard intersection. At street level, pedestrians are blocked from crossing by concrete barriers. Instead, New York-New York is linked by overhead pedestrian bridges to its neighboring casinos to the south (the Excalibur, across Tropicana Avenue) and to the east (the MGM Grand, across the Strip).

About Las Vegas
Las Vegas isn’t really all that big – it’s spread out, but population-wise it is a medium sized city (a little less than 2 million in the greater Las Vegas area including North Las Vegas, Henderson, Green Valley, and Summerlin). And if you’re here on vacation chances are you will be spending the majority of your time either on the Strip or Downtown.

Las Vegas Strip
The Las Vegas Strip is an approximately 4.2-mile (6.8 km) stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard South in Clark County, Nevada. Often incorrectly assumed to be part of the City of Las Vegas, The Strip lies within the unincorporated townships of Paradise and Winchester. Most of the Strip has been designated a All-American Road.

Many of the largest hotel, casino and resort properties in the world are located on the Las Vegas Strip. Nineteen of the world's 25 largest hotels by room count are on the Strip, with a total of over 67,000 rooms. One of the 19, the Las Vegas Hilton, is an "off-Strip" property but is located less than 0.5 miles (0.80 km) east of the Strip.

One of the most visible aspects of Las Vegas' cityscape is its use of dramatic architecture. The modernization of hotels, casinos, restaurants, and residential high-rises on the Strip has established the city as one of the most popular destinations for tourists.

Las Vegas Nevada
Las Vegas is the most populous city in Nevada, United States, the seat of Clark County, and an internationally renowned major resort city for gambling, shopping and fine dining. Las Vegas, which bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World, is famous for the number of casino resorts and associated entertainment.

A growing retirement and family city, it is the 28th most populous city in the United States with an estimated population by the U.S. Census Bureau of 583,756 as of 2010. The 2010 population estimate of the Las Vegas metropolitan area was 1,951,269.

Established in 1905, Las Vegas officially became a city in 1911. With the growth that followed, at the close of the century Las Vegas was the most populous American city founded in the 20th century (a distinction held by Chicago in the 19th century).

The city's tolerance for various forms of adult entertainment earned it the title of Sin City, and this image has made Las Vegas a popular setting for films and television programs. There are numerous outdoor lighting displays on Fremont Street, as well as elsewhere in the city.

Las Vegas Downtown
Las Vegas Downtown is centered on Fremont Street (Fremont Street Experience and Fremont East).

The Fremont Street Experience is a canopied-street of the Downtown area where casinos have been connected to the street and to each other in a unique visual manner. With more than 2 million lights and a state-of-the-art sound system, the Fremont Street Experience brings nightly shows through the world's largest audio-video system.

The $70 million attraction features the ultimate in multi-sensory entertainment. It also brings a variety of exciting special events, cuisine, special entertainment and live concerts throughout the year.
